Membrane Roof Systems
Modified Bitumen Roofing (2-Ply)
SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) Modified Bitumen roofing membrane is composed primarily of a glass filament fabric, rubber, and asphalt. The system is typically heat welded and designed for strength and weather resistance in varying temperatures.
Single Ply Roofing
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) roofing membrane is an adhered, light weight, synthetic rubber that provides flexibility and maneuverability. TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is a composite, plastic membrane that is heat welded at the seams to add strength and puncture resistance.
Built Up Roofing
BUR roof systems, sometimes referred to as tar and gravel, are composed of alternating layers of bitumen and reinforced fabrics, with a gravel finish. SBS or EPDM membranes are often incorporated to create a hybrid roof system.
Membrane roof systems are typically found on commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings such as schools, hospitals, office buildings, stores, restaurants, hotels, and apartment complexes. The type of roof system and its components will depend on a variety of factors such as building use or design, insulation requirements, warranty requirements, the costs and client preference.
Metal roofs can be supplied in a variety of forms, with prefinished colors, or galvanized. The roof systems can be designed to include insulations and thermal air barriers.
Commercial shingles can be used on steep or low sloped roofs and come in a variety of colors. Manufacturer’s limited warranties are included with the shingles and vary depending on the type/grade of shingle purchased.
